The idea
Private notes first, shared outputs second.
In practice, valuable project knowledge starts informally — a line from a site visit, a call, a design review. It later becomes an action, a decision, a record of what happened and why.
Metope preserves that chain. Your Timeline Pad is a private working space. Tagging a note to a project doesn’t share it. Sharing is always deliberate: a task only exists for others when you promote it — and it keeps a link back to the note it came from.
It is not a file store, a chat tool, or a document management system. It’s the working layer that sits alongside them.

Capture
Write meeting notes, site visits and rough thinking into a private Timeline Pad, organised by date. Quick to write to, calm to read back.
Organise
Tag notes to projects to filter and find them later. Tagging never shares a note — your working space stays entirely yours.
Promote
When a line is ready to become work, promote it into a shared task. Sharing is always a deliberate act, never the default.
Outputs keep their origin
Every shared task carries provenance back to the note it came from, so the reasoning behind the work is never lost.
Solo or a whole practice
Work alone on a Solo plan, or bring a team together on Teams with shared tasks scoped to the right people.
Private by architecture
Row-level security enforces the private/shared boundary at the data layer — not just in the interface.
